11.21.2012 (Sonnet: On Lavender Mountain, the House of Dreams)

On Lavender Mountain, the House of Dreams

Beige, yellow, tan, and blazing scarlet tones

From autumn’s chill are tearing at the seams

They’re dripping softly deep inside my bones

I carry colors everywhere I go

And if you see me then you first must know:

The colors are not mine; they’re merely lent

From trees and flow’rs and light that makes you squint

From time to time perchance there may just be

A color emanating off of me:

A colder hue of worn and somber blue —

It’s there because I’m thinking then of you.

Fair House of Dreams upon Mount Lavender

E’er healing wounds by standing so demure
