Obsessed with the Apocalypse are you

Obsessed with the Apocalypse are you
Although you wouldn’t see it the same way
Religion: that’s what told you what to do
Religion: burns in you like Tanqueray
Eschew me for my own beliefs so strange
Though a megalomaniac I’m not
Yet still they are outside your ideal range
Apostate, I’m an infidel besot
Now with a thunder rolling in my soul
I see to your true self and laugh aloud
All that was said was but a sham and proud
Untruths! I’d sooner count a chemist’s mole.
Although a part of me’s a little sad
The future still is bright. Still I am glad.
